In 1996, Roger A. McLean, after retiring from Elizabeth City State University (ECSU) as Vice-Chancellor of Business & Finance, started his own accounting and tax preparation business – R. A. McLean & Associates. Having experience in auditing and university financing, initially, gave him the desire to help colleges and universities maintain their accreditation in the area of financial accountability. However, his main focus was on helping individuals and businesses with their accounting and tax preparation needs. Today in addition to Accounting & Tax preparation, we perform Payroll, Financial Audits, Bookkeeping & Tax consultation.
As R. A. McLean & Associates, our brand was born out of this spirit of community and lending a helping hand. We believe that business can be a force for good, and from our humble beginnings, we’ve been on a mission to prove it.
Today, R. A. McLean & Associates serve more than just English speaking customers. We have added a bi-lingual employee to our staff. A staff that believes in the power of good business practices to drive positive financial sense. A staff that encourages our loyal clients, and solicits new clients to trust us with a portion of their financial life.
